Overview

As a wine educator you are responsible for providing exceptional luxury service to our guests. Your primary role is to create a memorable relaxing experience while hosting and educating our guests. Sell and promote our wines and wine collective.  Collaborating with our team and operating in an organized efficient manner is a must.

Responsibilities

Guest Service/ Hospitality

  • Deliver exceptional hospitality to all guests through food and wine experiences and ensuring a fun, refreshing and memorable experience.
  • Maintain fast accurate high touch guest service and ensure all products and experiences are consistent with company standards and policies.
  • Enthusiastic, passionate and dynamic communication style with the ability to speak and engage with guests.
  • Ability to develop relationships with guests to convert to wine club members.
  • Follow all alcohol safety and regulatory policies.
    • Quickly recognizes signs that a guest should not be served and takes appropriate actions.
  • Maintains retail areas keeping them neat, well stocked and organized throughout the day.
  • Performs standard duties including greeting customers, conducting tours periodically, providing wine education and operation of cash register and credit card machine. 
  • Assist with the “opening” and “closing” of Visitor Center, POS systems, stocking, inventory, and other various duties
  • Supports keeping Visitor Center up to company standard with regards to safety, cleanliness and neatness in all facility areas inside and out, and customer accessibility.

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the GF culture is consistently supported in all business and employee interactions, which includes both ethical and legal aspects, complying with federal and state laws and GF company policies and procedures.
  • May be requested to attend special events and tastings outside the winery for special pouring including virtual experiences.
  • Bring innovative ideas to the table regarding improvements of safety, service, merchandise, sustainability, and general operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must remain calm under pressure.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes weekends.

 

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have TIPS certification (or complete within 30 days).
  • Retail sales and/or food and beverage service experience helpful. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Second language ideal.
  • Exceptional customer service and strong leadership experience.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking.  Some wine knowledge preferred, but not required.
