At Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards, the Carneros' most award-winning winery and part of the Freixenet Mionetto Group, we specialize in sparkling wines as well as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay estate varietal wines. The Harvest Enologist Interns will work directly with the Associate Winemaker and the Winemaker and have frequent contact with the Vineyard Manager. Duties and tasks will include vineyard sampling, lab analysis, and fermentation monitoring.
Start Date: July 21st (depending on weather)
Finish Date: End of September, exact timing based on season
Hours: Up to 72 hours/week, generally in 10-12 hour shifts, 6 days/week during harvest. Post harvest, 40 hours/week.
Other: The intern is responsible for his/her own transportation and housing. Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards is
approximately 50 miles from San Francisco and 10 miles from downtown Sonoma. Working temperatures vary from the high 90's to low 40's, depending on the shift and the weather. Post harvest responsibilities will be primarily lab work.
