Overview

SUMMARY

The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for the driving innovative strategy for consumer direct sales enhancing benefits and creating brand loyalty programs, online channel revenues: web/ecommerce site optimization and affiliate sales; and digital corporate business.  The Digital Marketing Manager manages the customer / member services team and works in partnership with Hospitality, Winemaking, Marketing, and Finance to provide sustainable, profitable and successful execution of business plan objectives.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Operations:

  • Works with the General Manager, DTC and Business Development Manager to develop long and short term innovative modern sales strategies for E-Commerce channels. Carries out Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibilities; develops budgets, projections and forecasts.  Tracks and reports on monthly sales performance to goals and established metrics in conjunction with Finance.
  • Accountable for presenting and executing strategy and daily operations for E-Commerce channels to strengthen membership growth and wine sales: developing enticing promotional materials, innovative retention programs, and reduction of revenue liability.
  • Accountable for managing digital campaign strategy that utilizes A/B testing for continuously improved site experience and promotional messaging to maintain a world-class ecommerce platform
  • Monitors wine inventories.
  • Collaborate with DTC and marketing to launch new products and maintain updated photography assets for items and products on the website.
  • Develops annual strategy and executes alluring promotional email campaigns. Creates engaging promotional content for emails and digital collateral. 
  • Shape customer journey/experience from discovery to conversion and maximize returning visitors, including contributing to affiliate/loyalty programs
  • Helps to creates and implements wide reaching digital B2B programs including corporate gifting, corporate experience packages and manage member/corporate outbound telemarketing campaigns.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to leverage digital and POS technology to improve consumer data acquisition and monetization
  • Develops relationships with third party marketing and media partners to acquire new and prospective customers.
  • Works with the greater marketing team to ensure that ecommerce, digital media campaigns and social media strategies are aligned
  • Manages the CMS and Vin65 for on-line store/shopping cart
  • Collaborates with Marketing and/or agency for website development, search engine optimization, and search engine marketing.
  • Collaborates with Marketing team to deliver all added value wine club collateral and unboxing experience
  • Maintains currency of all vintage releases, merchandise items, wine notes, images, pricing, promo codes, shipping rates & inventory.
  • Ensures all operations are considerate of economic, environmental and human sustainability. Driving the company culture long term sustainability. 
  • Manages audience segmentation and partners with the greater marketing team to lead consumer research
  • Maintain expert industry knowledge of current promotional marketing trends and digital experience trends
  • Perform other digital projects as assigned by Manager.

Personnel:

  • Responsible for staff hiring, orientation, continual training, development, supervision and performance evaluation.
  • Establishes an atmosphere of continual development, teamwork and positive engaged employee relations.
  • Schedules routine meetings to communicate company news, sales/service goals status and invites team ideas.

 Other Responsibilities

  • Meets regularly with manager, finance, and business development team to discuss business progress, results and strategies.
  • Participates in industry and consumer events, seminars, and shows as necessary.
  • Continual development of staff to meet short and long term goals necessary to retain and grow staff in their current positions. Develop staff to be able to transfer to other functions or be promoted within the organization.
  • Ensures that the Gloria Ferrer culture is consistently supported in all business and employee interactions, which includes both ethical and legal aspects, complying with federal and state laws and Gloria Ferrer company policies and procedures.
  • At least monthly creates new ways to improve job performance.

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include retention, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent or 5 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Consumer-centric strategist with success in exceeding revenue goals, controlling expenditures, budget adherence and conducting business analytics.
  • Strong editing and content production skills.
  • Retail/hospitality and online/ecommerce sales or loyalty marketing experience a must. Wine enthusiast a plus.
  • Hands-on results driven leader promoting excellence for team, individual and brand/company growth.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Scheduling flexibility to work weekends and ensure business staffing needs.
  • High level attention to detail, ability to anticipate customer needs and respond appropriately.
  • Software proficiency: MS Office Suite, Outlook, AMS, Vin65 or other CRM, Campaign Monitor, WordPress, Photoshop, Google Analytics, SEO/SEM. HTML desirable.
